Ruth Kirk of Friends of the Lake District and I had a recent interview with the Sunday Times, explaining our progress and highlighting our cause and funding appeal. I've shown the picture of the article from the newspaper version below as the online version requires you to sign up. Too much kerfaffle!
Ruth, Friends of the Lake District and myself are stepping up the gears in sorting out funding and pushing the Sanctuary Project for attendees. FotLD have set an online appeal as well as seeking grant funding and we're asking organisations for kit donations too - this way, we can accomodate ALL whom attend regardless of what kit they do or do not have.
We've had some amazing offers of help already - whether it be financial donations, kit or accomodation, or actual physical help to the cause. All of it has been overwhelming - and Ruth and I are frantically finding time to organise everything so that we don't miss out on the offers. Thanks to everyone doing this. We are making moves to collate all the information and head toward the push to get "boots on the ground".
I will be updating this side of things when I can - I am a technophobe, so am learning as I go along.
Thanks - light and peace
